Kids Days Out In Edinburgh

Edinburgh is one of the cheapest cities in Britain for a family day out, because the national collections do not charge. You can spend a full day in the city centre and pay for nothing but lunch.

We list 33 attractions across the city. The National Museum of Scotland is free and enormous, the Museum of Edinburgh covers the city's own story, and there is riding at Tower Farm and a steady run of family events through the year.

The city centre is walkable and the buses are good. In August the Festival puts prices up and fills everything, so book ahead or come another month.
