Kids Days Out In Argyllshire and Isles
Argyll is a long, sea lochs and single track roads sort of county, and the days out here reward planning one thing properly rather than three things badly.
We list 14 attractions across the area. Inveraray Jail is the memorable one, though it is not suitable for the very young, the Cruachan guided tours take you inside a mountain, and Stramash at Oban runs the outdoor activity days.
Oban is the natural base and is reachable by train from Glasgow. Everything else here really does need a car, and the drives take longer than the map suggests.
