The Museum of Computing, Swindon
Have fun seeing the evolution of computing & our UK digital history!
The Museum of Computing in Swindon is devoted to the history of computing and digital development. It was the first physical museum of its kind in the UK dedicated to the history of computing. It is based in the centre of Swindon at Theatre Square.
The Museum is not simply a repository of artefacts, but has active displays as well as providing a forum for the provision of lectures. There is a mixture of permanent and temporary displays, many exhibits of which have been loaned by companies and other collectors.
The Museum has also recently developed a new education programme for school visits. Schools booking a group visit with us will have the opportunity to explore the Museum and receive a guided tour; they will then be able to pick from one of four sessions delivered in our classroom. The Museum is enthusiastic about supporting schools in delivering the curriculum and we are happy to work with schools to personalise the tour and session to help tailor the visit to their needs.
We have a kids computer club.
