Bradgate Park, near Leicester
A country park with lots to explore!
With 830 acres of countryside to explore, deer and historical monuments to discover, Bradgate Park offers a great family day out.
The Park was first enclosed as a deer park around 800 years ago. The Lower Park is a popular spot to picnic and watch the deer. The children can also have great fun paddling and splashing about in the shallows of the River Lin, which meanders through the grounds.
Don't miss the ruins of Bradgate House – the birthplace and childhood home of Lady Jane Grey, Queen of England for Nine Days in 1553.
