Full 'Steam' ahead for a great day out in Swindon
STEAM museum in Swindon is an interactive, hands-on history of the people & locomotives who built & operated the Great Western Railway.
It is a great attraction to visit and has many historic steam engines and carriages, as well as a 50's platform and waiting room.
There is a regular programme of events with special activities during the summer holidays.
There is a great shop with railway memariobillia.
The Museum is great for group visits of all ages and also an idea for school trips with key stage topics and sessions including - Victorian Discovery, Inside the Works – Life in the GWR Factory, ife in a Victorian New Town – The Railway comes to Swindon, Brunel and Stephenson – The Great Engineers
It is a must visit when you are in Wiltshire and is situated next to a very popular retail outlet centre.
